America Vernal, Utah 4

Utah landscape photos show fence posts made from a tree and buried in the hard grounds of this ranch outside Vernal, Utah. As the herds of cattle move through these foothills, the ranchers will shift these gates to open up and close off new pastures.

This photo is part of my new series of work, America: Vernal, Utah landscapes, a new collection of limited edition photographs. I began traveling across the United States in the summer of 2020. Choosing to focus my camera on the relationship between the land and the people who live and work on it. This first group of photographs explore ranching life in Vernal, Utah. A small town a few hours to the east of Salt Lake City.
