“…In spring, this lake absorbs color like a starveling –
Blue and that peculiar, hopeful yellow that thickens
The happy air like so much batter;
Seeps into its breeze-ruffled arms, the morning glory’s glory.
And the morning star finds, one morning, her mirror renewed.”
