Lake Sits in Absolute Stillness
The lake sits in absolute stillness as a result of a veneer of ice forming overnight. This thin barrier on the surface will disappear as soon as it has formed, its appearance following a series of storms. For now the lake reflects the gentle first light of day on the ice stretching away from my feet.
