Lake Series Birds
Here in this photograph from the Lake Series, birds circle, dive, splash and erupt from the waters of Lake Michigan late in fall last year. Repeating over and over again as they work to find food in advance of the cold lean winter months.

“Every particular in nature, a leaf, a drop, a crystal, a moment of time is related to the whole, and partakes of the perfection of the whole.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
The lake and the landscape around it constantly reinforce this excerpt from Emerson regarding the interplay and interdependence of each aspect of the natural world. All aspects working together to form the incredible beauty I am lucky enough to see and spend time with each day.
