“Great art, well marketed”. Michael Kaiser’s signature adage and career-guiding principle made him into the internationally renowned arts management expert he is today. Known as the “turnaround king” for his work at numerous cultural institutions and companies, Kaiser has bounteous accomplishments. Since becoming President of the John F. Kennedy Center in 2001, he has established the DeVos Institute of Arts Management, worked with the National Symphony Orchestra and the Washington National Opera, and implemented an unprecedented number of signature programs: the works of Stephen Sondheim, major festival of the arts of China, Japan, the Nordic Countries, and the 22 countries of the Arab world, as well as the Bolshoi Ballet, Mariinsky Ballet, and the Mariinsky Opera to name a few.
