Sheets of Ice Freeze on the Lake

sheets of ice freeze together on a cold day on Lake Michigan under cloudy gray blue skies

Large and small sheets of ice overlap and shift against one another as the lake begins to freeze over on February 16, 2022. Overnight this ice will freeze solid. But for now you can hear it shifting and rubbing together in the water.
