Duck Diving in the Lake
I see a duck diving in the lake and I quickly realize it’s a cormorant as it pops up onto the lake surface. Having dove deep into the cold lake waters almost a minute before. Hunting for fish early in the morning. It continued to repeat this pattern of diving and surfacing for over fifteen minutes while I photographed Lake Michigan. Searching for its breakfast.
On this morning the landscape was filled with astonishing jewel tones that became the brilliant red-orange scene that you see here.
