America: Buffalo, Wyoming
America: Buffalo, Wyoming, is a new collection of limited edition photographs that explore the sweeping plains and Big Horn Mountains of northern Wyoming. Schatz spent time in this region during the summer of 2020. The ranches here primarily raise cattle and sheep. Farming isn’t as feasible as the lands are rocky and the soil bare. Sitting on lands once populated by the Sioux, Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes. The Big Horn mountains always appear sitting on the horizon. Fences demarcating property lines cleave the land apart. Power lines stretch across the sky. The eye tracing their path until they disappear from sight.

Each day, dusk brought with it incredible color that filled the skies over the land. Illuminating the landscape with beautiful and unexpected color that ran from deep reds, yellows, purples and blues. Casting the mountains and plains into shadow as night falls.
