Following on from yesterday’s post the results of the lake ice crushed into pieces over the course of twenty-four hours. It is the morning of January 26th, 2021 and I came to the lake to discover an entirely new landscape. It almost appears as if small styrofoam pieces are covering the surface of the lake.
But it is what remains of the ice blocks that had been grinding themselves the day before into ever increasingly smaller pieces. With temperatures rising and falling, those massive pieces of ice became what you see here. Certainly not what I expected when I was standing on the shore the day before.
