Lake Series Panoramas, May 5th 2016, is a diptych photograph of Lake Michigan of an intense sunrise early in the morning. On this day I had arrived well before any light began to come from the horizon and over the course of an hour I was able to capture diptych and triptych photographs of the sun as it began to push higher into the sky. Seen in their entirety, it’s almost impossible to imagine that so many vibrant and varied colors can exist, let alone in the span of a single sunrise.
