Culture Merge is a proposal to connect several hundred participants across the globe using my interactive software. Select video is captured at various individual locations, networked to a central server in Chicago, and archived. A student in Bombay moves in front of the computer at his uncle's store. As he does, video of a Tokyo street scene fades in and out while a family having dinner in Buenos Aires comes into high opacity. He stands still and video images from Los Angeles and Berlin swirl around him. Based on the participants' on-site movement, video is then recalled from the archive and sent to individual locations.
